Bringing on a co-manager, an agency, or a virtual assistant to help run your Facebook Page? Facebook moved away from the old “Admin / Editor / Moderator” role system for Pages — professional accounts now use a Page Access menu built around Full Control and Partial Access instead. Here’s how it actually works in 2026.
How to Add an Admin to a Facebook Page
Step 1: Switch into your Page
Click your profile photo in the top right, choose See all profiles, and switch into the Page you want to manage.
Step 2: Open Page Access
Click the Page’s profile photo, then Settings and privacy, then Settings. In the left-hand menu, click Page setup, then open Page access.
Step 3: Add the new person
Click Add new next to “People with Facebook access.” Search by name, Facebook profile URL, or the email address tied to their account, and select the correct profile from the results.
Step 4: Grant Full Control
A toggle will appear asking whether to give this person full control of the Page. Turn it on to make them a full admin — able to manage every part of the Page, including who else has access.
Step 5: Confirm with your password
Click Give access, enter your own Facebook password to confirm, and the invitation is sent.
They Still Need to Accept
Nothing changes until the person you’ve added accepts the invitation on their end. Ask them to check their notifications if access doesn’t seem to be working right away.
Full Control vs. Partial Access
Facebook’s newer Page Access system gives you two broad options instead of the old named roles:
- Full Control — the closest equivalent to the old “Admin” role. Can post, respond to messages, run ads, view insights, and add or remove other people’s access.
- Partial Access — lets you hand someone specific tasks (like posting, or moderating comments) without giving them control over the whole Page. Useful for a freelancer or a junior team member.
Only people with Full Control can grant or revoke access for others, so make sure at least one trusted person on your team has it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I add an admin to my Facebook Page?
The most common reasons are: you don’t have Full Control access yourself, the person you’re adding doesn’t have a personal Facebook profile linked correctly, or they haven’t accepted the invitation yet.
Can I remove an admin from my Facebook Page?
Yes — from the same Page access screen, find the person’s name and choose to remove their access. Only Full Control users can do this.
How many admins can a Facebook Page have?
There’s no fixed limit on how many people can have Full Control access to a Page.
Does adding an admin give them access to my personal Facebook profile?
No. Page access only controls what someone can do on the Page itself — it doesn’t expose your personal profile, friends list, or private messages.
Getting the right people the right level of access is part of keeping a Page secure and running smoothly — alongside things like your cover photo and initial Page setup.
